Meal guides, recipes, and pro-tips are written, designed, and tested in my kitchen. I’m not only an expert in nutrition, I’m also a real-life person who Loves (with a capital “L”) food.
You can rest assured every week that the meals you get are balanced nutritionally; yes - there are nachos on the meal guide, but there are enough veggies in the recipe to make sure you’re getting the nutrition you need. But the recipes aren’t so healthy that your family won’t eat them; I use food science (I’m a total science nerd) and healthy oils plus plenty of seasoning to make healthy food taste good.
I’m also passionate about moving towards an eco-friendly lifestyle, which is why the meal guides are based on seasonally available produce in northern Colorado. I always make use of my CSA Veggies from Miller Farms during the summer and the guides are designed to help you minimize food waste. Every week you’ll find at least one vegetarian meal on the guides to help you eat lower on the food chain and reduce carbon emissions. It’s better to be better than to be perfect; the meal guides help you eat healthier for you and the planet.
Finally, you should know that I’m a cook, not a chef; as long as you can follow instructions, you can make these recipes. There aren’t a bunch of weird ingredients in the recipes; you can find what you need at your local store. My family and friends eat these meals. They’re real people; they eat their veggies but also like to enjoy “soul food.” Meal guides include a balance of “healthy” plus “delicious” so you can feel good about fueling your body, but also love the food you eat.
